Food and Nutritionist Lecturer

  1. Job Title: Food and Nutritionist Lecturer

    Job Description: We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Food and Nutritionist Lecturer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition science, food science, and teaching experience. The role involves delivering engaging lectures, developing curriculum materials, conducting research, and mentoring students in the field of nutrition and food science.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and practical sessions on various aspects of nutrition and food science.
    2. Create and update course materials including syllabi, lecture notes, and assessments.
    3. Provide academic guidance and support to students through office hours, feedback sessions, and mentoring.
    4. Engage in scholarly research activities related to nutrition and food science.
    5. Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary courses and research projects.
    6. Stay current with advancements in the field by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs.
    7. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities.
    8. Contribute to the development and assessment of academic programs in nutrition and food science.

    Requirements:

    1. A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) or Masters in nutrition, food science, dietetics, or a related field.
    2. Previous experience teaching at the university/college level, with a strong record of effective teaching and student engagement.
    3. Expertise in one or more areas of nutrition science such as clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, sports nutrition, or food microbiology.
    4. Demonstrated research productivity through publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or conference presentations.
    5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
    6. Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and academic program administration.
    7. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and inclusive academic environment.
    8. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Nutrition Specialist) are desirable but not required.
